Oman -  The Exhibition of Higher Education and the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) 18th edition was held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman from 16 to 18 April 2018 in the newly built convention hall. It is an annual event held under the patronage of the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Sultanate of Oman. Organized by OITE Trade Fairs, the exhibition was inaugurated by HE Dr. Said bin Hamed bin Said Al Rubaii - Secretary General of the Council of Education in Oman Convention & Exhibition Center. Students from all over the Sultanate of Oman has the option to choose among 200 top universities and colleges which covers 20 countries in GHEDEX include institutions of higher learning (IPT) of Oman, Australia, Cyprus (led by the Ministry of Education and Culture - Cyprus), France, Ireland ( led by Enterprise Ireland), Jordan, Malta, Malaysia (chaired by Education Malaysia Global Services), New Zealand (led by Education New Zealand), Poland (led by perspektywy Ed Foundation Fremont), Saint Lucia, Egypt, Philippines, India, Qatar , the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Germany (led by DAAD), United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. Participation of new players in this year's GHEDEX including IPT from India led by Indian Association for the Promotion of Education, Higher Education Institutions of the Philippines led by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education and the University of Saint Lucia, Egypt and Qatar. The exhibition is also receiving an increasing presence in public and private institutions from Malaysia, Ireland, UAE, UK and USA.

GHEDEX last edition attracted more than 25000 visitors, more than 200 universities and colleges from over 25 countries participated with 170 agencies and educational institutions and 30 international accounting entries for local participation. Omani and expatriate students seeking quality education and opportunities for evolvement through internships and related career planning programmes find’s GHEDEX to be a lucrative opportunity to pursue their higher education goals.
