GOTONG ROYONG PROGRAM AT LECTURE HALL COMPLEX

SERDANG, Friday, 7th February. - The Division of Admission and the Division of Academic Governance has held a series of Gotong Royong in 2 Lecture Hall Zone beginning 17th January 2020 at the A Academic Complex (KAA) and at the A Zone Lecture Hall on 31st January 2020. However, the activity at the Lecture Zone B (cabin) schedule of on the 7th February 2020 could not be continued due to the shortage of staff who had to focus on new international student enrolment and Covid19 issues which started to show symptoms of the transmission at that time.

As usual, the Admissions and Academic Governance Division will hold such gotong royong activities during the semester break of the Bachelor program at least four weeks before the next semester starts. At the same time, the gotong royong activities undertaken at KAA are also in preparation for receiving new international student (undergraduate and postgraduate) registration which will register as new students from 28th January, 2020 to 7th February, 2020.

The gotong royong activities are carried out almost every year and through such activities have benefited the staff and utilise the existing assets. It is one of the most important steps to brighten the campus area through gotong royong activities to clean the lecture hall and its surrounding. The wisdom of this activity was to promote 'togetherness' in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the lecture hall as well as strengthening ukhuwah. It can also save on spending and increase productivity.

Present at the event were nearly all staff and officers working in the Admissions and Academic Affairs Division. Cleaning works include cleaning of complex and corridor foyers, lawn and fence cutting, garbage disposal, drainage and field cleanings and surrounding areas.

Through these activities, it is hoped to build friendships between the Admissions and Academic Governance Division and maintain excellence. Just as emphasizing the concept of goodwill as a pillar of UPM excellence and it will be an ongoing effort to ensure that UPM staff fully understand the philosophy of ‘ihsan’ that will and appreciate their life and daily routines,"
